The Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is an International leader in providing family-centered pediatric health care to patients and their families from around the world.  Ranked as one of the nation’s top three pediatric hospitals by U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Children’s Hospitals” for 2012-13, this full-service, non-profit institution is ranked in the top ten in all pediatric specialties.  It has just been named the #3 top children's hospital in the U.S. in Parents magazine's top hospitals rankings for 2013.  Established in 1883, this leader in pediatric health care is committed to providing the best possible care for children with their state-of-the-art facilities, innovative research and outstanding academic programs for health care leaders of the future.

The vision of CCHMC is to be the leader in improving child health through their commitment to excellence in patient care leading to the best possible outcomes for children.  Their emergency services department is the busiest in the U.S. and is the only Level I pediatric trauma center in the region.  Their internationally-renowned surgical services department is second in the nation in the number of surgical procedures performed annually.  Their 59 bed Level III-C NICU experts provide care for critically ill or premature newborns, and their 35 bed PICU meets the urgent needs of critically ill or injured infants and children.  CCHMC has attained Magnet status for excellence in nursing care.

Affiliated with the University of Cincinnati, this leading academic children’s hospital’s department of pediatrics is a leader among clinical, research and teaching institutions, ranked first of the top five in pediatric medical training in the U.S.  In addition, professional growth and development programs are available for staff, ranging from orientation to customized continuing education and professional growth opportunities.  Employees are regularly recognized for outstanding clinical skills and their commitment to excellent, compassionate patient care.

Cincinnati Children's Medical Center will break ground in June, 2012 on a new 15 story research tower at their main campus location, resulting in a total of 1.4 million square feet of space for laboratories, a research imaging facility, research-based outpatient clinic and offices for faculty and staff.  Upon completion, it will be the largest pediatric research facility in the country.  Ranked as one of three top pediatric hospitals in the nation, Cincinnati Children's is a leader in pediatric research, as their 52 research divisions continue to break new ground aimed at improving the health of children everywhere.  Past research resulted in the Sabin oral polio vaccine and the first practical heart and lung machine among many other medical breakthroughs.  The new tower will afford the opportunity to expand current research in cancer biology, stem cell biology and genomics, ADHD and immunology.  Scheduled for completion in 2015 the new pediatric medical research tower at Cincinnati Children's will enable researchers to continue as leaders in their continually growing pediatric research programs.

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is committed to community outreach programs that not only improve access to quality health care for children, but make the city a healthier, happier place for them to live.  Cincinnati Children’s truly is committed to bringing the world the joy of healthier kids.
