What you need to know about hiring a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
When did Melnic Consulting Group get started?
Melnic Consulting Group has been in existence since 1990. Jill Gilliland bought the business from Vicki Neumann. Over the years we have built strong relationships with professionals at Pediatric Centers throughout the United States and have become well respected in this industry with our clients and candidates. Our network of relationships built over the years with both decision makers and potential candidates within Pediatric Healthcare enable us to identify exceptional career opportunities as a pediatric nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist for those looking and to identify the best candidates for our clients.
Why would a hospital use Melnic to find candidates for pediatric nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist jobs when they have their jobs listed on the hospital web site?
Many times positions are hard to fill. Most Human Resource departments receive hundreds of resumes a day. When they have a position that they are not receiving any qualified candidates for, they will contact Melnic Consulting Group to help them. Over time, Melnic Consulting Group has developed close relationships with hospitals, and they will ask for help because they like the quality of the candidates, integrity, and professional treatment they receive from Melnic.
Why would a candidate use Melnic Consulting Group, when they can search positions as pediatric nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist on their own and submit their resume online?
There are a number of reasons why candidates prefer to work with Melnic Consulting Group instead of engaging in the job search process on their own. Candidates are usually either finishing up their masters degree or working full time and do not have time to search for positions. Keep in mind that looking for a full-time job is a full-time job! Candidates find that Melnic is either already working on a position that a candidate is interested in or they will use their vast network of contacts. In addition, they can conduct a targeted search to determine what jobs are available that match the career requirements of the candidate. When an application is submitted through the hospital web site there are many factors the influence whether the resume reaches the hiring authority such as a unit director. Melnic Consulting Group will deal directly with the Human Resources department and the hiring authority. This provides two major advantages. One is that the candidate is presented to the proper hiring authority. This means that the resume is not only delivered directly to the hiring authority but because each individual possesses a unique set of talents, skills, abilities, experience, and training Melnic has an opportunity to talk to the hiring authority to present the whole candidate not just what can be presented in a resume.
Do you negotiate salaries?
Most people do not like to talk about salary let alone ask for bonuses and moving expenses to be covered. Melnic will negotiate the best offer that benefits both the employer and the candidate. Even if you do like negotiations sometimes discussions can become heated when it becomes personal. Melnic is a neutral third party that can successfully reach the best outcome.
How do you get paid?
Hospitals or clinics pay a contingency fee or for a retained search. A contingency fee is an agreement supported by a signed contract to pay a specific percent of the candidate’s salary to Melnic Consulting Group. Melnic has a signed agreement with a hospital or clinic, presents qualified candidates for available positions, and if that candidate is hired by that organization, the hospital or clinic will pay the agreed percentage. In a retained search, the organization contracts with Melnic Consulting Group to provide consulting andcandidates for the search. Melnic meets extensively with the organization to create a comprehensive description of the ideal candidate that will most likely be a fit for the position, culture, and skill set. Candidates are prescreened by Melnic Consulting Group to create a pool of most qualified candidates to present to the organization. The organization pays Melnic a set fee regardless of whether the candidates are hired or not.
